Women in Leadership: Inspire Inclusion

On this International Women’s Day, we take a moment to honor, not only career women, but the entire female gender at large. Vey little is said about stay-at-home women, yet the role they play in our society is unmatched.

International Women’s Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide on March 8th. It is a day dedicated to acknowledging the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women throughout history. This day recognizes the importance of gender equality and empowers women to continue their fight for equal rights. It is a day to honor the contributions of women from all walks of life, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, language, culture, economic status, or political affiliation.

Throughout the history of computing, women have played a significant role in shaping the digital world we live in today, despite the numerous challenges they have faced. From the earliest days of computing to the present age of virtual reality and artificial intelligence, their contributions have been invaluable and have helped to revolutionize the field.

Pipedrive sheds light on how thousands of inspiring women in marketing have made great strides in achieving gender equality, with 60% of marketing jobs in the United States now held by women. Even better, research by the ANA found that of their 870 member companies in 2020, 56% of senior level executives were women, an increase of 4% over the year before. This improvement in gender diversity in marketing is great news and reflects the tenacity of women in marketing all around the globe.

According to a report by GEM, women entrepreneurs play an important role in driving economic growth and advancing social development. The statistics reveal that women entrepreneurs tend to be younger than men, particularly in low-income countries, and are generally more educated than men, with higher levels of graduate education.

Despite these achievements, women have often been marginalized in some fields, facing discrimination and bias. This has led to a lack of representation and diversity in a couple of industries. This, however, has not deterred women from making important contributions in the said fields, and are increasingly recognized for their achievements. It’s only fair to recognize the impact that women have input in today’s society. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.
